Kristin's pregnancy

On October 1, 2110 Logan Leroy Breinholt came into our lives at 8lbs, 1oz, 21.5 in long. His labor took a little longer and was scary at the end. Kristin came in at 5:00am not being able to handle the pain any longer. After a quick epideral she was feeling better. I got there at 6 and shortly after that the Dr came in and told her that there were 4 babies coming that morning and she was spacing them apart. Kristin was 2nd on the list. I think the first one went longer than expected and then Logan's contractions slowed down which bumped him down on the list. The next time we saw the Dr it was almost 10:00am. A nurse had come in to give Kristin pit juice to speed things up again and then came in a half an hour later to check on her and baby. Logan's heart beat had started dropping during contractions so after moving Kristin around a few times and no success she checked during a contraction and felt the cord coming out first. Well then all sorts of things started happening real fast. The nurse told us that within 2 minuets after the Dr. would come to check her she might be rushed to the OR for an emergency C-section.
Sure enough the nurse was right and the Dr. never took her hand out of Kristin. They dumped her upside down and ran her down the hallway with the Dr. holding on for dear life trying to keep Logan from cutting off his own airsupply with the cord getting cramped off. Craig was quickly dressed in blues and a quick word to remain calm, and assure Kristin everything is alright and a camera thrown in his pocket with "don't forget to take pictures" yelled at him as they all ran down the hallway. 5 min later he was here safe healthy and strong!

Finally releif from the contractions, waiting for Logan to come. Labor had started the day before and they had been sent home to progress there the night before.

This is Kristin 4 days before delivery of our 2nd grandchild. It's been so much fun knowing that we were expecting our first 2 grandchildren expected 2 weeks apart! It's been so much fun to watch them both grow and expereience different things and have both pregnancy's go so well for each of them. Kristin also had a dream pregnancy hardly feeling sick and working and exercising through the whole thing.

Avery Kate Bentley came into the world very fast! just an hour after arriving at the hospital and then waiting for the Dr. to show up she came into our lives at 8:06pm at 5lbs, 11oz and 20.5 in long. She is beautiful and the only part of Katie's pregnancy that is like mine her total labor 4 hours. Just like mine, I told her at first pain with the next baby run to the hospital with your legs closed. (I deliverd my 2nd 20 min after first pain) Born September 26, 2010 Grammy and Grandpa! and of course Avery!
She is simply the cutest baby ever!

Katie right after she got her epideral. She felt her first contratction at 4:00pm after a nap and walked downstairs to tell Blair she thought she was in labor, he thougtht she was joking at first but soon realized when she couldn't breathe through a contraction she was serious so he had her get in the tub to relax for a while through contractions and after 30 min, they were less than 5 min apart. He realized this was going to happen sooner than later and started to quickly pack his bags. Katie had been ready for a few weeks and kept telling Blair to get ready but he thought he'd have plenty of time to get ready. A very quick call to me that they were on their way to the hospital and off they hustled. By now Katie is in a lot of pain and they are coming quickly!

This is Katie at 39 weeks pregnant! She is so cute she looks like she has a basketball hiding under her shirt. She has had an amazing pregnancy, barely felt sick at all, (just a day here or there) never threw up, no complications what so ever! (unlike me with all sickness and tons of complications) worked all the way up to delivery! She has been trying to keep up at Cory's cross country meet with some fast walking so she can get this baby out!! ( I am ready to be a grandma!)

Girls Hike

Monica Whitiing found the hike of the month in her hiking magazine and thought it would be fun. Kathy Gray organized us, taking Kathy Rollander, Jan Child and Erin ? (Kathy's friend) and me up towards Canyon Lake.
It's a primitive trail but we found it we through a ravine until we ended up facing huge cliffs. We then went down an amazing river bed full of smoothed over lava rock which led us to water, connected to Canyon Lake. While we were up on our high cliff, which Jan who hates pictures wanted us to climb to to take a picture; we were visited by two kayak's who we happened to follow up on the way. Because Jan's trail wasn't part of "the trail" we had to work our way through thorns and thistles feeling like we went through brier patches. It was fun and just the right distance about a mile in and out. Of course we finished up by going out to lunch.

cross country season

This year was Cory's junior year for Cross Country and it was my 10th year of going to meets. The boys have all done well at running and each one has tried to beat the other brothers. Cory was ranked 3rd in state after winning City and just being beat by a Corona kid for regionals they were a second apart. Cory hope was to be in the top 5 and he really wanted 3rd. He came in at an exciting finish of 5th. With just a 100 feet left to the finish, Cory was in 4th until the last 150 feet he started to slow down, not realizing someone was coming up closer to him. By the time he realized it they were even and Cory had to speed up and they ended up coming in at 16:14.2 and 16:14.3 Cory was just behind. He had a great season

Halloween

This year was a busy one for me as I am on the activites committee for the ward and was in charge of the halloween party for the ward and one for Robby, his first jr. party.
Cory is carving pumkins with Aubrey for me to use as center pieces for the tables and Craig stopped by to show us his hillbilly nerd costume he wore all day to work.
Roy was easy this year as far as dressing up, Robby was hard because he wanted to wear a mask and we wouldn't let him because we felt it would be easier for him to socialize face to face. Hyrum Porter who also gave the party and was held at his house gave his mom the same battle and for the same reasons he lost too!
It did turn out to be a great party attended by about 70 kids in Hyrums' garage and driveway. We had a great DJ who kept them entertained and busy doing activites and dancing and they all had a great time.

Homecoming 09

Cory went to both Highland and Gilbert's homecoming this year. He asked Halegh Williams to Highland's and had dinner in our backyard. They were dressed in blue and black. He asked her by throwing pink feathers all over her room and saying "I'd be tickeled pink if you'd go to homecoming with me" She answered by having him follow a chalk arrow around the neighborhood and ended up with chalk drawings around thier bodies and saying "I'd die to go to homecoming with you."

Cory then asked Aubrey Cope to Gilbert's, since she goes there and he asked her by saying "my spider senses tell me that you'd like to go to homecoming with me" He made a spiders web out of string in her room with a large spider and poster. She answered back by hiding a spider in a cake which he had to find with the answer wrapped around it saying "your spider senses were right I'd love to go with you". They had dinner at his friends Young Tanner's house with 20 of their closest friends. The dances were a week apart.

Higley Groves service project

Here are a few of the many pictures taken on Friday and Saturday the 19th an 20th of October re-roofing a house. We had 28 men and priest up on the roof from 3-6 taking off the old shingles, and taking it down to the wood of the roof. Many nails and old staples also had to be removed. The shingles were either thrown into dumpsters using tarps or swept off the roof onto tarps we had surrounding the house.
The next morning we served a light breakfast and the rest of the ward joined us at 7:00am to put on the new roof. You can see they had to get the shingles and old staples and nails from the ground to the dumpsters. Some of the young women were assigned to help take care of the young kids while the parents worked, so they organized them into games.
The deacons came straight from an over nighter and with 20 deacons in the ward we had to organize them into a prompt neighborhood service project to keep everyone busy. We had a few men in the neighborhood who owned riding lawn mowers and came back with them and we had the deacons start cutting neighbors lawns. This is an old county island so they had big lawns and they accomplished 6 lawns cut that day. they also started cleaning out some of the neighbors horses corals for acts of service.
The neighbors next door were so impressed with all the help they couldn't help but be impressed with this gathering. They compared it to the Amish and a barn raising. We had the women cooking and preparing food and water and the men and boys on the roof, the others were picking up trash from the roof, seeking out service or quietly playing games. Everyone stayed until the job was completed, a 9 hour day on Sat, and a 31/2 hours on Friday. We made a big impact on the people we did the roof for, the neighbors and the ward members who helped. The youth were also amazed at the accomplishment of it all and were surprised that they stayed so long to help out.
The most amazing thing was how it all got paid for. 10 days before the project began, the Bishop asked the members for contributions, slowly but surely they all came through. The whole project cost $5470. and we raised $5455. from the members a little at a time.
The less active member in our ward who we asked to help because he owns a roofing company was one of the most amazed. He never thought we'd get the job done or raise the money and that he would end up finishing the job on Monday with his crew and beg his suppliers for more donations. He has been to church along with the less active family we did the service project for every week since then.
Along with all the neighbors who received spontaneous acts of service this project truly blessed more lives than we can even account for.

Robby's Projects

Robby loves making things with his hands. He is always thinking up different things to make out of wood. These are some samples he has done out of scrapes he found around the cabin at fall break.
He is also restoring an old 1966 Chevy truck. He has taken it completely apart all by himself, with his buddy Mike who comes over a couple times a week to mentor him in this project.
They are now at the body work part of the restoration. Don is another mentor who is showing Robby how to get rid of the old rust, and replace it with new metal and weld it back on. Robby is loving this project as well. I just think my husband is grooming is own handy man and mechanic for the family personally; ha ha Robby is just the man for the job!!

heirlum quilt

I am so excited to show this master piece off. My quilt group has been working on this project for a year now. We would meet once a month and learn a new technique of quilting that was really foreign to me, even though I've sewn most of my life. We would then go home and have the month to finish our line. Sewing with exactness was a real key on this project. It is now at the quilters shop where each row will have a different pattern quilted on it. Yes by machine, at this whole quilt was done that way. It is my first and I am really glad to have it done!

Rosarito MX, with Cousins

We went to our beach house again at the end of July with the Breinholt cousins and this time Katie and Blair, Craig and Kristin were able to join us for part of the week. Leroy thought it would be fun to have jet ski's' down there so we brought them down and enjoyed getting out of the AZ heat!

We had a lot of fun and felt totally safe once again down in Mexico.

Taylor's Wedding in Cali

The time we had after the wedding getting all the fruit cut up and racing off to the venue to have an hour and a half to set the entire reception up with food in place was the CRAZIEST thing I've ever seen. It was truly a whirl wind of an experience getting all the tables up and decorated, flower centerpieces made and set, food set up arranged and placed and all of us dressed again for the ring ceremony to begin at 6:00. Guest started arriving at 5:30. It was great to see all that came from Ahwatukee that the girls grew up with to help Taylor celebrate her big day. The most exciting moment was when her mom and little sister finally showed up at the last 5 minutes before the ring ceremony began. I was grateful she finally came to support Taylor. It also was a true learning experience for me and I was able to see an entire wedding planned and executed on a $2ooo budget. Taylor made and design her own dress and Vail. We went through the temple with Taylor at noon and it was a beautiful ceremony. It was an exciting time to be there with Taylor. She used to come to achievements days and girls camp with Katie, but to see her grow up and accept the gospel and put it above all else, even her family to get married the right way was truly inspiring. Taylor is a true pioneer in our day for the trials that she endured sticking to her beliefs no matter what.
We all drove to Huntington Beach CA, on Thursday and with Taylor's friends there used their kitchen to finish up preparing the food and flowers on Friday for the big day on Sat. We did have time to go the pier and our hotel was by sunset beach. There was just a little fun in between getting ready for everything.
Katie felt sorry for her and so did I so we talked about and decided to help plan the wedding with her. She and her fiance James were going to pay for the wedding all themselves (the part that the bride pays anyway) since her parents were in favor of the lds wedding. So I called on my dear friend Jan to do the flowers and Blair's best friend Jake to do the video and Katie and I were in charge of the food. Blair was the muscles behind and the "gofer" guy. A wedding always needs one of those for last minute things!
One of Katie's friends she grew up with and danced alot with joined the church a few years ago after high school and now lives in CA, going to school as a wedding dress designer. When she called up Katie and told her she was going to be married in the New Port Temple we were thrilled for her. We were sorry that her mom was having a hard time accepting this and she was planning the whole wedding by herself, never having been to an lds wedding or reception before.

Kristin was a good trooper going along like I did. She has never learned how to wake board but atleast she got out there and tried. She is a great snowboarder so it shouldn't take long for her to learn when no one is around watching her. She loves the boys since she grew up with no brothers, she is a great sister to them.

Craig loves to drive the boat and wouln't give up the controls until it was his turn to wake board. He also talked dad into going up to Rooselvelt Lake, since it was a Saturday and the lakes are usually crowed and hard to enjoy. We loved this lake it was big and hardly no one was on it, so well worth the extra hour to the lake!

Dad wanted to take the family out on the lake since we hadn't gone yet this year so here are our memories. We missed Katie and Blair they were out of town. This is my acutal first time on the boat that we've had for 2 years. I love water skiing but not wakeboarding so I haven't been as excited to go. But we all had a great time!

Cory's Birthday Party

Cory was ordained a Priest on the Sunday following his birthday. We of course missed Derek there but we know that he is where he is supposed to be, in Ny, NY serving the Lord.

On Cory's real birthday all of his "girl friends" were away at girls camp so his "guy friends" took it upon themselves to decorate Cory's room while we were away at dinner. Another big surpise for Cory!

Cory was really surprised and asked Stephen if he new anything about it? Of Course Stephen was just as surprised but thought that because it was at Cory's house it was just for Cory, Then he realized that with his family there and with him not knowing about it, it was for both of them. They were truly surprised and excited!!

Cory and Stephen really enjoyed the surprise! Thier friends were great about spreading the news and keeping it a secret. They kept them both busy all day at each others houses and talked about getting ready for an awesome party that night that they were going to crash!

Cory and Stephen Jew of his good friends were surprised by thier moms who decided to through a "surprise 16th birthday party" for them together. The real surprise is that is was 2 weeks after Stephen's birthday and 2 weeks before Cory's 16th birthday so they had no idea it was coming!!!

Robby Hockey/Wrestling

Robby kept busy this spring by wrestiling every weekend. He has been doing it for 3 years now and is looking forward to wrestling in jr. high. He usually placed in the top 3 at each meet. The older boys love to watch Robby practice at home and would love to groom him for UFC, I say no way but of course Robby loves the attention it brings and of course the wins!

Robby learned to skate earlier this year and is now playing hockey twice a week all summer long. Although he has started off a little slow while the other boys on the team have been playing for a while he is catching up fast, learning to be quicker on his feet and actually started to help the team out. He is looking forward to playing again this fall. I am a little worried because that means traveling!

The family doesn't mind going and watching him play because it's fast moving, indoors and actually cold. A great sport to watch during the summer, of course the boys favorite part is the "checking" which is allowed at Robby's level, it's also his favorite part!

Kathy Rollandar, Monica Whiting, Jan Child and I all went to womens conference at BYU and had a great time. We went to the Timpinogas Temple and gave service at the evening of service making hand puppets and a quilt. The rest of the time was filled with exciting classes, lots of laughter and of course a little time was saved for shopping!!

Zip line at the cabin

Dad put in a zip line up at the cabin and it is really fun and scary! It's 60 feet up in the air and 550 feet long. There is one also coming back and a little one for the kids across the gulley. You have to harness in like your repelling and climb a tall ladder to the plateform, then all is left is to just jump off and enjoy. It gets you going up to speeds around 35-40mph. The kids really enjoy it. I am afraid of heights so you wont see me up there!

Cory's state track meet

Cory ran a fantastic track season this year and he's only a sophmre. May 13th and 16th he ran state in the 800m, 1600m (mile), and 3200m (2 mile). He did amazing here are is times.

For the 800m 13th place with a 2:00.34 time. The only sophmore to place in the top 22 runners.

For the 1600m 10th with a 4:25 time. The winner was his team mate Jon with a 4:19 time. Only 2 sophmore in the top 20 runners placed.

For the 3200m he took 5th with a 9:36 time winner was his team mate Jon at 9:22.

To put these time with his brothers results Craig his senior year was tied at first in the mile with a 4:21, and Derek with a 4:24

In the 2 mile Craig ran a 9:34 breaking a school record, Derek ran a 9:33 breaking a school record.

Cory has 2 more years to catch up with them. Jon his teammate ran a 4:13 in the national track meet and breaking a school record. Cory has his work cut out for him his senior year. We are proud of all our boys accomplishments!

Spring Break

Over spring break we had a great time doing lots of crazy things up at the cabin. The first part of the weekend we went snowmobiling! Yes there was enough snow up by Hawley lake, then we went skiing up at Sunrise ski park! We had the Whiting Family with us and as you can see we had great spring skiing shedding off our heavy jackets and bringing out some "Green" to share the St. Patty's Day holiday. It wasn't too crowded and I loved the boys wearing the green wigs because I could spot them all over the mountain. We all had something that we sported to celebrate the day.
Katie and Blair also shared our spring break and came over from Flagstaff and spent the week with us.
The following day we went river rafting down the Salt River in the Canyon for a half a day. We got to experience class 3 rapids and almost fell over! It was a great day too. Such diversity all in one week and all up in the white mountains where we have our cabin! Fun memories!!
